Yoga at the Vicarage Video Transcript

My name is Kara Douglas, I am a Yoga teacher and I have a Yoga studio about a mile down the road called Fishmoon Yoga. I’ve been here for just about a year now, coming on Tuesday afternoons to work with the residents for about an hour or so. I started last fall and I’ve seen great things happen in the time since then.

So, we are hoping to help residents here embody their whole experience, their whole bodies, so that they’re able to feel just a little bit stronger and a little more steady on their feet.

I just love working with this population. It’s amazing to me to see what their bodies know and remember, even if the words don’t necessarily make sense on a given day.

I love seeing how I can start to move and they just follow right along. And their bodies seem to fall right into motion with what they’re doing.

It helps me to see how lovely it is when people are really in present time without necessarily referencing what’s coming next, what came before this.

“And I hope you have a great rest of your afternoon. I’ll see you next week. Alright, thank you.”
